Caregiver for Department 95 at the Adult Psychiatric Clinic
We are currently seeking caregivers for Department 95 at the Adult Psychiatric Clinic in Västmanland. This position is aimed at those who are trained nursing assistants or caregivers and wish to work within adult psychiatric inpatient care.
With us, every day is varied, educational, and meaningful!
Job Responsibilities
As a caregiver, you play a central role in the care and in creating safety and structure for the patients. The tasks include care and support based on individual care plans as well as documentation in Cosmic and Cosmic Nova. The work involves sampling, NEWS checks, and other common caregiver routines.
You will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues in a team alongside nurses and other caregivers. Extra shifts may occur as needed, both on your own department and in somatic departments. The work is patient-centered and includes caring conversations, contact with relatives and other actors, as well as participation in medical conversations and examinations such as EKG, EEG, and X-rays. The role also includes practical tasks that contribute to the department's daily operations, such as handling meals, purchasing, and some cleaning.
About the Workplace
The adult psychiatric inpatient care in Västmanland consists of a psychiatric emergency reception and five care departments focused on general psychiatry, psychosis, and substance use disorders. The departments work closely together to meet the needs of adult patients requiring acute psychiatric care.
Department 95 is a general psychiatric acute department with a broad focus. Here, patients with mental illness and health issues are treated throughout their adult lives, including anxiety, depression, crises, suicidality, cognitive impairment, and dementia. For those interested in combining psychiatric and somatic care, there are good opportunities for this. During semesters, the department serves as a psychiatric training department, which means an extra focus on learning and professional development.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job; therefore, we offer you:
- tailored introductory program to help you feel secure in your professional role
- opportunities for professional development through internal training
- Collegial support and a good working environment – we value community and well-being.
- free access to our fully equipped gym
- wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a nursing assistant in somatic care and/or elderly care, as well as knowledge of the Cosmic journal system.
To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you are a stable and secure person who remains calm even in stressful situations. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills, are empathetic in your interactions with patients and relatives, and maintain professionalism in various situations. We also value personal maturity, where you can distinguish between the personal and professional and reflect on your actions at work.
